Intense ruby-red, the nose shows aromas of red fruit and violet; the palate shows plenty of that same red fruit, namely wild raspberry and strawberry with splashes of plum and damson flavours, finishing fresh and juicy.
When fruit is this good, so pure and fresh, so expressive and direct, why hamper it with oak, especially cheap, quick fix oak? Atamisque is one of a growing number of wineries that prefers to use oak only for upper level wines, opting for the 'pure fruit' ethos here. This, however, is not a lesser wine in any respect, as can be seen from its popularity.

Crafted in a fairly extravagant style this is a lovely, plump, velvet textured delight with clever use of oak in evidence, capable of developing very nicely for 8 - 10 years.
This is complex and alluring Malbec. A hint of violet perfume sits above well crafted and cinnamon driven oak. On the palate come finely grained tannins supporting flavours of raisin, plum, dark cherry and tobacco leaf.
