Seven kilometres from the ocean, the 48 hectare Anwilka Estate produces what Robert Parker deems "the finest red wine I have ever had from South Africa". The significant maritime influence in the Helderberg region guarantees exceptional fruit quality and, in the Bordeaux model, a second wine from the estate known as Petit Frère has been introduced to set a new benchmark in the quality for South African red wine.

Anwilka 2011 displays an intense, deep ruby core and ruby rim with fresh, vibrant and concentrated layered fruit on the nose. The palate is balanced with fresh acidity, supple tannins and elegant texture. Flavours of blackcurrant fruit, dark chocolate and toasted mocha are evident.

Blend of grapes: 67% Shiraz, 31% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit verdot.
