Champagne Lucien Collard - The Collard family settled in Bouzy in 1919, she came from a family of winegrowers who had settled in this Grand Cru since 1833. Auriane the God Daughter of the most recent Collard now creates fabulous champagnes from the 2 hectares of vines, 1 in Bouzy and 1 in Celles sur Ource in the Aube.
Veuve Fourny Et Fils - Making some of the most exciting wines in Champagne and are emerging as stars of their generation. They now own and lease some 20 hectares of 1er Cru vineyards in the Côte de Blancs and all exclusively from the limestone and pure chalk soils of Vertus. They practice their own lutte raisonnée which is organic in the vineyards, and prune very short to restrict yields. The vineyards are planted to 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir.
Bernard Robert - Now run by the third generation, Sébastien, the Robert family own 30 hectares of vineyards situated around Voigny and six other communes in the north of the Aube region. The soil is chalk and limestone, the average age of the vines is 35 years and they practice a strict form of lutte raisonnée.
Paul Dethune - Started as growers in the early 1800s and began to make their own Champagne in the 1930s. The vineyards are planted in the ratio of 70% Pinot Noir to 30% Chardonnay and are farmed on organic principles. This immaculate 7-hectare domaine goes from strength to strength. Pierre and Sophie Déthune, along with their daughter Emma, are friends of the Fournys and this Ambonnay domaine is amongst the loveliest and best cared for in the whole of Champagne.
Gallimard Pere Et Fils - Didier Gallimard owns 10 hectares of prime vineyards on the steep slopes around Les Riceys in the southern Aube. Didier’s son Arnaud has joined him, becoming the seventh generation, and the long-term future is now secure. Their vines’ average age is over 30 years and the dramatically sloping vineyards, which are of chalk and Kimmeridgian limestone, are planted mainly to Pinot Noir and just a little Chardonnay. Their wines are full and rich and offer enticing aromas and flavours of summer fruits.
