Maths Question: What do you get by adding crystal malt to British, German, and American hops? An easy-going golden ale, of course! Otchan�s a wonderfully robust beer with a beautiful depth of smooth, malt flavour, as well as just a hint of sweet citrus on the nose. Our second ever beer, and a fan favourite to this day!

Sleck Dust is a straw-coloured, easy-drinking session ale. There�s a unique floral edge to Sleck that you won�t find in most beers, coming from a precise, closely guarded blend of Centennial, Pilgrim and Northern Brewer hops.

4.3% � This stout combines the heady aromas of Pontefract cakes with German hops, roast malt flavours and, of course, real liquorice! Its rich and unique taste has served LLS well at the World Beer Awards, taking home gold as recently as August 2023. It also won a gold award in 2015 alongside bronze in 2017 and 2018. It�s even won a SIBA gold medal.

Jem�s Stout is a mahogany-coloured, traditional dark beer. Complex aromas of liquorice, prunes and hop resin are all at the forefront, coupled with deep, rich flavours akin to coffee and chocolate; it�s a fan favourite!

4.3% � Holderness Dark is our classic mild, combining a fantastic chestnut colour with aromas of sweet toffee and grassy hops. Sweet chocolate malt and hazelnut flavours top it all off for a satisfying finish.

Here you will find beers for all seasons and all-year drinking. We don’t try to reinvent the wheel. We keep it simple, using superb natural ingredients to make beer that you can sit back and enjoy, without even thinking about it. Which in our opinion is the sign of a very good pint indeed. It’s traditional craft beer with a modern twist. Growing our own malting barley gave us a good start and we have since developed special strains of yeast as well as experimenting with homegrown hops, although they are difficult this far north.
