Seifrieds was established in 1973, when Hermann and Agnes Seifried planted grapes in the Moutere Valley between Nelson and Motueka. Seifrieds prides itself on being a true family business. The range includes rich full chardonnays, fine floral Rieslings, lively herbaceous Sauvignon Blancs, warm plummy Pinot Noirs and when conditions are right, intensely delicious dessert wines.

The 2012 Seifried Gewürztraminer has even more concentration than usual given the exceptionally light vintage Nelson had in 2012. The nose has fragrant rose scents with succulent Turkish delight. The palate has ripe succulent summer apricots and rose water. Fine phenolics support the fruit palate and define the wine on the palate.
